For many people, the holidays is a time of loading up the car and visiting family. That means being off schedule and a lot more tired. Being on the road for a road trip, can mean long hours in the car. One of the most important things when driving making sure that you are awake and focused. Try these tips to beat off holiday travel fatigue.
Plan Ahead: Make sure to leave yourself extra time. Things always seem to take longer than planned. It can be because of traffic or an accident. Maybe someone forgot something. Whatever the case, leave yourself extra time. If you are feeling short on time you are more likely to feel stressed and drive faster. Feeling stressed will make you feel more tired and worn out.
Take Care of Yourself:  People tend to eat differently when they travel. Bring snacks that are healthy and filling so that you are less likely to eat a lot of foods that you don’t normally eat. Be sure to bring drinks in the car. It is easy to become dehydrated or to have low blood sugar when you are traveling. When your blood sugar drops or you become dehydrated, it is harder to focus which makes driving harder and less safe.
