We are finally getting out from under the 30 inches on snow we received a few weeks ago. Yes, you read that right, 30 inches. In a matter of a day and a half, Winter Storm Jonas dumped enough snow that it was ready to bury my 6 year old. While the kids enjoyed playing in it, I can tell you, I am not a snow person. I am not one of those people that thinks, Oh yea, let’s go play in the snow. I have come around over the years and will kind of tolerate it, but I do not like it. Combine the 30 inches of snow with the fact that our snow blower broke just as the storm started to hit, and I was dreaming of a warm vacation, far away.

After we were done shoveling out the driveway, and I was finally back inside snuggled up under my blanket, the only thing I could think about was flying away to Kissimmee, Florida. There are so many things to do while visiting Kissimmee, that it is often on many families winter travel plans.

Disney

A trip to Kissimmee can be filled with visiting some of the many theme parks in the area. With so many fun parks to visit, the most renowed ones are Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld® Parks & ResortsTM Orlando, and Legoland Florida. There is a theme park for every taste and adventure. But there is plenty to do in Kissimmee besides just theme parks.

You can find plenty to do in Kissimme. If you are looking for something that you can only find in Kissimmee, try visiting Gatorland. This is a one of a kind park that lets you get up close and personal with some local gators.

Or spend some time checking out the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s complex. One of the newest attraction is the Space Shuttle Atlantis. It is a way to come nose to nose with the actual space shuttle orbiter that has flown in space 33 times. The complex is packed with fun experiences that range from astronaut encounters to a larger than life IMAX film, to live shows and hands on activities.

hot air balloon rides

If you are looking for more adventurous ideas, think about taking a hair air balloon ride over the area or take one of the air boat adventures.

There is even a large selection of free activities in Kissimmee to fill your days. While staying in Kissimmee, check into the vacation rentals that make traveling and relaxing as a family, especially a large family, that much easier.
