Road trips are the best type of vacation in my opinion. There is nothing more fun that getting everyone in the car and heading out to see somewhere new. Road trips are usually cheaper than flying and let you see more along the way. If you can try to have a loose schedule of things to do, it gives you more time to explore when you come across something that you didn’t know was there. Here are 3 ideas of places that are great road trip destinations:
New Orleans, Louisiana: While, New Orleans is still rebuilding from Katrina, after all these year, this is still a must see destination. Truly a one of a kind city, New Orleans is one of the oldest cities in the US. It is known for its beautiful architecture and its amazing cuisine. While many dream of visiting New Orleans during Mardi Gras, there is plenty to do all year round including jazz festivals, ghost tours and tours through the French Quarter.
Las Vegas, Nevada: Don’t gamble, that’s ok. There is plenty of other things to do in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas besides gamble. Seeing the strip is something that most people will remember and talk about after visiting Vegas. Take in one of the many shows; try some of the food offerings, and visit some of the unique museums, like the Mob museum, that are only found in Vegas. While there, visit the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area, take a helicopter tour or a wildlife tour. If you are feeling very outdoorsy, try a kayak tour.
