Hopefully you can plan on buying your next new, or new to you car. I know it is not always the case, but sometimes, you know it is coming. If that is the case, if you can control when you want to buy your next car, there are times of the year that can help you save money. And with any major purchase, any money you can save always helps. The people over at Reedman Toll in Langhorne always want to help you get the best price for car.

At the end of the day:  This is great even if you can’t control when you need to buy a car. Like everyone else, salesman want to get out of the office as soon as they can. But that doesn’t mean that they are not interested in helping customers who are genuinely looking to purchase a vehicle. But since it is the end of the day, there can be a little more wiggle room in the price, perhaps.

At the end of the month or quarter: Salespeople work on commission, but they also have quotas they need to make. So if it is towards the end of the month or quarter, and the salesperson is a little short on the amount they need, they are likely to help you more, by getting you a better price.

During Tax Time: During February through May, car dealerships are at their most busy. Many people have money to spend when they get their refunds back. Many people use those refunds for large purchases, like getting a new car. Dealerships want you to choose them over someone else, so this is a great time to get into the dealership. They also want to get cars on the lots, so you can usually get a better trade in value.

In Season: Yes there is a season to cars. In the late summer and early fall, the new models are starting to hit the sales floor and dealerships are trying to get rid of the inventory they have on hand. Buyers may be able to get a great deal on a 2015 as the 2016s are rolling out.

End of the Year: Cars lose value with each passing year. A 2014 with so many miles on it is worth more this year than it is next year. Even though nothing changed with the car. Dealerships want to get the cars off the lot before they lose value. They need to think about their bottom line. It is a great time to go in and see what kind of deal you can get on the car.
