My fiance has been OBSESSED with buying a Mini Cooper for months. Pretty much whenever we are out of the house and he sees one, driving down the street or for sale, he can’t help himself from saying Mini and pointing it out. He loves them. And I agree with him. Besides being ADORABLE they are great little cars. What got us started on wanting a Mini Cooper?

We have tossing around the idea of getting a second car that would be our small car. With 6 kids between us, and most of them are with us, most of the time, our first car is a big car. Big enough to hold us all. But there are 2 weekends a month that it is just us. We are free to travel as much as we want. The only thing is, those weekend are almost always road trips. The thing with a big car and road trips… big cars take a lot of gas. Mini Coopers get around 34 MGP on the highway.

What makes the Mini Cooper special? In the 1956, there were fuel shortages in many countries, including the UK. There was a need to have a car that was fuel-efficient. The first Classic Mini made its debut on August 26, 1959. It fit 4 adults and was frugal with gas. It featured great handling and was priced at under $800. Due to the engine placement, passengers has a lot of room. It also had a large wheelbase. The Classic Mini was the first sedan car to truly handle like a sports car. In 1996, a panel of experts from Classic and Sportscar magazine voted the Classic Mini to be the “No. 1 Classic Car of All Time,” and in 1999, an international panel of judges voted the Classic Mini to be the European Car of the Century, taking second place in the Global Car of the Century Competition, topped only by the Ford Model T.

The Mini Cooper is a great little car, especially for people who want to be able to save on gas while taking a road trip. Because of the surprising space in the Mini Cooper, the Mini is a great car for anyone needing 4 seats or less.
Mini Coopers are available new and used at great prices. Patrick Mini shows what kind of Mini Coopers are available on their lot and what great deals are available.
Personally I am loving the idea of adding a Mini Cooper to our family of cars. My road trip ideas are growing.
