The tire rotating slows the aging process of the tires.
There are different ways to consider when you should rotate the tires. If you have a full-size spare tire, you might do a 5 tire rotation. If you only have a small donut sized spare tire, you will be doing a 4 tire rotation. For most cars, it is recommended that you rotate the tires every oil change, every 6 months, or 15,000 miles. You owners manual will give you the recommended time frame for your tire rotations.
It is important to rotate your tires at least every year at a minimum.
How to Rotate Your Tires
If you have directional tires, you will simply take the front tire and move it to the back. The put the back tire on the front. If you have non-directional tires, that means that there is no “side” for the tread. It can be used on both sides. If you have this kind of tires, you will move the tires from one side to the other and go back and front.
If you cringe at the idea of buying new tires, doing this simple tire rotation can make your tires last.
